Make your own Smoothie Bowl with Katie!

If you’re like me, you’re living out of your pantry, refrigerator and freezer.  Although this really isn’t a bad thing, it’s sometimes difficult to come up with a meal.  I am always stocked up on items to make my homemade smoothie bowls. I can eat them anytime and my 13 year old daughter LOVES them.  I am going to share what I put in mine but you can make yours your own of course based on what you have in your house.

If you’re shopping Kroger, and I know you are, you can add all of these items to your Kroger Pickup or Ship order and in no time you’ll be making your own.  I promise you, these are AMAZING!  Now more than ever, we need to be making sure we are staying safe and healthy and that means watching what we put in our bodies. Trust me binge eating and tv watching are going on. Let’s break from that with this delicious snack or meal. It really can be either.

Smoothie Bowl Recipe (If you’d like to make one)
Makes 1-2 servings


  • (1) 6 oz cup of yogurt (I used up the Yoplait Strawberry Starburst that was our Free Friday Download a few weeks ago)
  • 3/4 cup Dole Fruit & Veggie Frozen Fruit (or similar item, blueberries make this smoothie absolutely gorgeous!)
  • 3/4 cup of milk or juice
  • 1/4 cup Granola (like Love Crunch)
  • 1/2 Dragonfruit, sliced and diced (this is an expensive treat, but so beautiful and one of my daughter’s favorites)
  • 1 TB chia seeds

Start by adding frozen fruit, yogurt and milk or juice to blender and blend until smooth. Should be on the thicker side, so you can eat with a spoon. Arrange dragonfruit and granola so it looks real fancy. Sprinkle with chia seeds so that being super EXTRA and when you deliver this to your child she says “oooooooh!!!” (that happened).

From a couple days ago, here in isolation land. In the front: Getting ready to make a pumpkin pie, using dry milk, a "flax seed egg" in place of a fresh egg, pumpkin from my freezer from last Halloween, and a woohoo piecrust (and 1/2c sugar, not shown). And across the back - remember earlier this year when Kroger apple juice was 9 cents in the mega sale? I turned it into wine for about 10 cents a bottle!
