What do I need to make Shopmium work?

  • Shopmium is compatible with iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 and 5S and requires iOS 6.0 or later.
  • Shopmium is compatible with smartphones running Android 2.3.3 and up.

  • In the app, you can access offer details by clicking on the offer, and then on the Discover this offer pink button. You can find specific information as well as if your store even offers the product.
  • Head to Kroger (or a store of your choice) and purchase the offer product  and just like Ibotta you can scan the product to make sure you are purchasing the correct one.  But don’t forget that receipt because you’ll need to take a picture using your phone.
  • After you have left the store, click the offers tab, locate what you just purchased and then click the Request My Rebate button. You will then need to scan the bar code of the item and then take a picture of the receipt and submit.
  • You will get your money back via Paypal.

Checkout 51: Earn Money for Groceries You Buy at Any Store (Online too)!!

I am excited to tell you all about Checkout 51 – because if you love ibotta then you will love Checkout 51. One of the best parts about this new program is that you don’t have to have a Smartphone in order for this to work. You can simply upload your receipts to your computer just the same.  How cool is this?

:: How Does Checkout 51 Work?

  • Flip through your offers and buy products at any store.
  • Use either the mobile app on iTunes or Android or use the Checkout 51 website.
  • Checkout 51 will confirm your purchase and credit your account.
  • When you have uploaded receipts and have $20 in your account, Checkout 51 will mail you a check.

:: Important Factors with Checkout 51

  • New offers will go live each Thursday at 12:00 AM in each time zone. The offers will then expire the following Wednesday at 11:59 PM in each time zone. Important Notice: You MUST submit the receipts while the offers are live.
  • Offers are available in limited quantities. So even though you may have an offer on Thursday they may be gone before you get to the store so make usre you get there quickly and then submit your receipt immediately after you purchase.
  • You may only receive credit for (1) of each offer that is eligible for cash back per member.
  • You may only upload each receipt (1) time or more. Check redemption amount.
  • Make sure when purchasing the items that you look at your products and descriptions. Just like ibotta, if the correct item was not purchased, credit will not be given.
  • Coupons CAN be used with Checkout 51.  Need I go any further? 🙂
  • Items purchased from online retailers such as Amazon and are eligible for cash back. So save those packing slips for your proof of purchase.

That is a question I get a lot, so I wanted to post another tutorial for those of you who haven’t yet started using ibotta. Additionally, they have updated a lot of the features, so you may need to familiarize yourself with these.

How Does ibotta Work?

ibotta is a free smart phone app that lets you earn real money for items you purchase at many store nationwide, including Kroger! As of right now, there is no policy against stacking paper coupons to really maximize your savings!  🙂

:: CHOOSE OFFERS

When you open Ibotta, click on Grocery (or Restaurant or Home Improvement) and choose your store. You’ll see Ibotta Offers in the Product Gallery. Each store will not only include offers that are available everywhere, but will sometimes have store exclusives. Choose a product and complete one or more of the tasks for each offer. The more tasks you complete, the more pending cash you will add to your account. Unlock these earnings by purchasing the product in a selected store.

Offers expire so don’t forget to redeem them before they’re gone!

Tell them your likes and dislikes and you’ll get more personalized offers (do this by clicking on the coupon image and then choosing “not interested in this product”.)

After choosing offers by completing tasks, offers will be added to your Pending list. Buy these items at any of the over 50 retailers where Ibotta works. Be sure to check your favorite stores to find exclusive offers that are only available at select stores.

Ibotta will verify your purchases and send you cash within 24 hours. Depending on the store, there are two ways to verify purchases:

If the store selected shows Redeem in the Product Gallery, take a picture of your receipt and follow the instructions.

If the store is an Ibotta Preferred Partner, it’s even easier – choose Link Account and register your loyalty card or phone number. At checkout, use your loyalty card or phone number, and they’ll handle the rest!
