If you’ve been reading my blog for some time, you will have noticed that typically when I post an awesome online deal, I will mention that you should go through Ebates to earn cash back on your online purchases. So, today I thought I’d go into detail on what Ebates is, and how to use it to make money!
You can earn cash back at any of over 1,200 stores any time you start your shopping trip at Ebates.com. There are no points to redeem, no forms to mail in, and no fees. Stores pay Ebates a sales commission for sending shoppers their way, and Ebates uses the commission to pay you cash back.
I am going to do my best to walk you through the process so you will have a better understanding as to how this site works.
If you notice, each store has a different cash back percentage. In this case, Kohls currently yeilds 4% cash back. It takes anywhere from 3-5 days to see your cash back deposited to your Ebates account after your purchases have been completed.
Here’s the awesome thing about Ebates…Providing you have at least $5.01 in your account, they send you a check every quarter! The next checks will be sent out May 15th! Plus, you receive a $5.00 cash bonus just for signing up! If you do not have at least $5.01 in your account, your balance just carries over to the next quarter.
I cannot say enough good things about Ebates. Let’s review: earn cash back for online purchases you were already going to make? That’s called easy money.
Any questions? Please feel free to ask!
Use $1.00 Q from 3/21 SS or from above

Worried that the restaurant might not honor your certificate? Their restaurant partners want you to be happy. After all that’s the whole point, to bring in and keep a new customer. So rest assured, they back up what they say. You have an unconditional guarantee. If something isn’t right with your certificate, just contact customer service by phone or email and they’ll take care of it right away. Obviously, they want you to come back over and over again. If you’re still not convinced, just call the restaurant ahead of time for confirmation.
If you are planning on dinner out or are planning a special occasion, then this is a great way to save! Stock up now!!
***Want to learn about purchasing Restaurant.com Gift Cards, rather than certificates? Read the comments in this post. (thanks, Eric!)

Here is a copy of the email I received from Kroger Consumer Affairs regarding the Kroger Corporate Coupon Policy, dated May 14, 2010:
Thank you for contacting Kroger. The coupon policy for your Division is as follows:
** The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the use of ANY coupon upon view. **
** The store manager has the right to limit the Quantity of coupons or items used/purchased in a single transaction,
by a single customer, or in a single day. **
PAH: (Print At Home)
Internet Coupon Policy ALL Banner Stores!!
We only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout.
We do not accept “FREE product” printable coupons, with no purchase requirement. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable but will be MUCH less common than traditional value-off coupons.
We do not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product’s value without advance notice. Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate.
Coupons will be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates. Legitimate PAH coupons are never copied, sold or traded. Nearly all coupons are “non-transferable” meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
Coupons will be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.
PAH coupons can be checked for validity at http://www.printcoupons.com.

The store manager has the right to limit the Quantity of coupons/items, used/purchased in a single transaction, by a single customer, or in a single day.
Amount refunded cannot exceed the price of the item.
We Do accept Competitor Catalina coupons that are also Manufacturer coupons of items that we actually carry.

Kroger also has a Corporate Print At Home Coupon Policy:
Effective November 2007, all Kroger divisions accept industry-standard, secure print-at-home coupons. We recently partnered with Coupons Inc., the industry leader in print-at-home coupons, to offer print-at-home coupons on Kroger.com and all of our store banner websites. You may also find coupons on brand websites and legitimate coupon websites like Coupons.com. Help us make your shopping experience a pleasant one by keeping in mind these simple rules for using Print-At-Home coupons.
We can only accept print-at-home coupons if they scan properly at checkout. Legitimate printable coupons are delivered using special software designed to print a properly rendered barcode on the coupon and limit the number of coupons printed.
We will generally not accept “FREE product” (no purchase required) print-at-home coupons. It is currently an industry practice not to produce print-at-home manufacturer’s coupons for free product. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.
We will usually not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product’s value. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided advance notice by the manufacturer.
Coupons will be rejected if they appear distorted or blurry, altered in any way, or are obvious duplicates. You should always print the coupon yourself directly from the website or email that is offering it. Only then can you ensure you are printing a legitimate coupon. The coupon will never appear on your computer screen. A legitimate coupon is never sent as a graphic or PDF or sent in a Word document.
Print-at-home coupons should never be copied, sold, or traded. They should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others. They have unique serial numbers printed on them and follow an industry-standard format. Coupons are never sold and you should not pay for someone’s “time to clip” or other service fee.
For more information about using print-at-home coupons and to check coupons for validity please visit the Coupon Resource Center online at www.printcoupons.com.

Customers choosing to participate in the digital coupons are required to have an active online account with a valid, associated shopper card. Kroger employees or partners are prohibited to set up or otherwise maintain an online account not specifically associated to that employee or employee household.
A valid shopper card or an alternate ID is required for the use of digital coupons at the time of purchase.
Digital coupons and offers are deducted from a customer purchase prior to paper coupons or any other discounts and cannot be added back or removed once card has been scanned.
>> Limit one use per digital coupon per transaction
>> Digital offers cannot be combined with manufacturer paper coupons on the purchase of a single item
>> Digital offers do not double
>> A limit of 150 coupons can be loaded per household at one time
The store manager has the right to accept, decline, or limit the use of ANY digital coupon or offer.
———————————————————————————————————————————————-
The Kroger Scan-Right Guarantee states that if a product rings up at a price different from the one listed on in-store signage or what is advertised in the weekly ad, they must
give you that product FREE and every additional identical purchase will be adjusted to the correct price.
Updated: 5/9/10
A Catalina (Cat) is a reward you receive for purchasing participating items. It will print in the form of a coupon at checkout and you can use it like cash for your next shopping trip. For example, Buy (3) boxes of cereal to receive a $3 coupon good on your next order.
You will usually find hanging tags under the participating item stating the requirements for generating a Catalina, or you’ll receive an advertisement for them in the form of a Catalina.
Here are the current Catalinas for Kroger that I have found. Keep in mind that I have NOT tested all of these myself, so please let me know if they do NOT work for you or if you find any others! I rely on coupon forums and word of mouth (not to mention ME walking down every aisle at Kroger with an eagle eye!) to keep this list current!
