Kroger Digital Coupons | Questions Answered + My Recommendations

in Couponing For Newbies, Kroger Digital Coupons

If you’re confused about Kroger Digital Coupons or just want to hear my 2 cents on the subject, I’ve put together a post on the most frequent questions I receive regarding digital coupons, plus give my personal recommendations on how to make the most out of this service.

Can I Stack a Digital Coupon With a Paper Coupon?

No. Digital coupons are considered manufacturer coupons – not STORE coupons, so you must choose one or the other.

Do Kroger Digital Coupons Double?

No. Digital Coupons are redeemed at their face value.

Are Digital Coupons Valid on Sale Items?

Yes, but they are not eligible on Manager’s Specials or Closeouts.

How Many Digital Coupons Can I Load To My Shopper’s Card?

A limit of 150 coupons can be loaded per household at one time.

Can I Load Multiples Of The Same Coupon To My Card?

No. All digital coupons are limit one per card/household.

Do Kroger Digital Coupons Expire?

Yes. All the coupons have an expiration date. If you load the coupon to your card, it will be valid until that date. Some coupons, while still valid according to the expiration date will not be available to load to your card throughout that entire period, so if you see something you like – don’t wait to load it – it could be gone tomorrow!

Which Digital Coupons Should I Load To My Card?

Consider The Coupon Value.

I recommend only loading coupons that are higher value than the paper coupons you have for that product. Take into consideration doubling policies. For example, if you have a paper coupon for $0.55 (and your store does NOT double that value), but the digital coupon value is $0.75 – it is better to load the digital coupon. However, if you have a $0.50 paper coupon and the digital coupon value is $0.75, you will NOT want to load the digital coupon because it will not double. Your paper coupon is worth more.

Load Kroger Store Brand Coupons.

I try to load ALL Kroger store brand coupons, because those will typically not compete with a paper coupon. The exception to this is if you want to use a coupon from a Kroger mailer booklet, in which case you will just have additional coupons to use. Kroger store coupons never double.

One Of A Kind.

Once in awhile Kroger will offer digital coupons that don’t exist otherwise. LOAD those babies!

When You Want To Purchase Multiples.

While you cannot use a digital coupon and a paper coupon on the same item, you CAN purchase 2 items…use a paper coupon on one item and load a digital coupon to apply to the 2nd item. This is a great way to stock up on a great sale item!

If I load eCoupons from another site, will I be able to load it again from Kroger Digital Coupons website?

No. While P&G eSaver and Shortcuts eCoupons ARE available to load from the Kroger Digital Website that does not mean it gives you more than one of that coupon. They just try to make it easier by offering the same coupons all in one place.

Are Digital Coupons available immediately after loading?

Coupons are generally available within a few minutes but can take up to an hour before they can be used in the store.

How will I know if my digital coupons were deducted from my purchases?

Digital offers deductions/discounts will appear on your receipt below the qualifying item(s).

Can I remove a digital coupon from my card?

Yes. If you find a paper coupon that you would rather use for an item, you CAN remove the digital coupon from your card. The only exception to this is if the digital coupon was loaded through another Kroger program such as email or targeted promotion, OR it was loaded from another partner site like Shortcuts or P&G eSaver. Coupons loaded from another source will say: “Special Offer Type” and will not have the “Remove” option. This is why I always recommend loading all your coupons directly from the Kroger site.

Do you know which is used first? Our Kroger only doubles up to 50 cents for the paper coupons. So, if I happen to have a $.55 cent coupon on the card, and a $.50 coupon as paper. Will it use the one on the card and the cashier hand me back the paper coupon, or will it know that the paper coupon is better and leave the ecoupon on the card?
I just want to know if it will automatically give me the best value, or if I will need to remove the ecoupons that might compete with my better paper coupons.

Brandee, Digital Coupons always take preference over paper coupons, so double check what you’ve loaded BEFORE you leave for the store and remove any that you have a better paper coupon for. Or just buy extra.
